Provincial president of PML (Q) lawyers wing, Behlol Khattak on Saturday resigned of PML (Q)'s basic membership as protest over presidential reference against the suspension of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudry.
Behlol Khattak, who is also General Secretary of Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA), announced quitting PML-Q Lawyers Wing and resignation of party's basic membership during PHCBA general body's meeting held here at Bar Room.
Behlol Khattak, announcing his decision said he considered the presidential reference and suspension of Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudry as'attack' on judiciary and could not go with the party supporting such 'ultra constitutional' steps of General Musharraf.
