Sharjeel Khans father has come out in the defense of his son, claiming that the opening batsman is innocent and didnt commit any corruption.
Pakistan cricket was rocked by corruption scandals on Friday, leading to the suspension of Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif by PCB.
Addressing the media on Saturday, Sharjeels father Sohail Khan said that his son might have met someone unsuspectingly during the ongoing Pakistan Super League (PSL). However, "he did nothing wrong," said Sohail.
Sharjeels father further expressed optimism that his son would soon get cleared of the allegations.
"I am hopeful that he will be cleared of these allegations," said Sohail.
Sharjeel Khan and Khalid Latif, both playing for Islamabad United were provisionally suspended by the PSL and PCB authorities.
