WASHINGTON: The travel ban imposed by the United States President Donald Trump on seven Muslim-majority countries will not affect Pakistan.
This was stated by Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal while addressing a ceremony organized on Kashmir Solidarity Day at the Pakistani embassy in Washington.
Pakistans Ambassador to US Jalil Abbas Jillani, former ambassadors and large number of Kashmiris were present in the ceremony.
Iqbal, commenting on the governments performance, said that Pakistans economic growth has positively affected the international organizations. He added that investors are regaining their confidence in doing business in Pakistan following Operation Zarb-e-Azb against terrorists.
US President Donald Trump earlier banned visas for the citizens of Iran, Iraq, Libya, Somalia, Sudan, Syria and Yemen, all Muslim majority countries - but insisted his order was not Muslims-specific.
President Trumps order to restrict entry of people from seven Muslim countries was blocked by US District Judge Ann Donnelly who allowed stranded travellers to stay in the US.
However, United States will not ban visas for Pakistanis in the near future, Washington has assured Islamabad, stated the federal minister.
