ISLAMABAD: The federal government has decided to appoint Federal Minister and Chairman Privatization Commission, Muhammad Zubair as Sindh governor.
According to latest media reports, the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leadership made the decision after the demise of former governor Saeeduz Zaman Siddiqui, who passed away after brief illness in Karachi on January 11.
Currently, Muhammad Zubair is serving as chairman Privatization Commission. Whereas, the seat of Governor Sindh was left vacant after the death of Justice (retd) Saeed-uz-Zaman Siddiqui. The 79-year-old only served for 2 months, making him the shortest-serving governor in Sindhs history.
Zubair is expected to take oath as the governor in next few days, the sources added.
