Light drizzle rain and snow falling started in mostly upper parts of the country early morning today.
As per the Pakistan Metrological Department, Rawalpindi received twenty-six millimetre rain, Kotli sixteen, Muzaffarabad fifteen, Islamabad eleven, Lower Dir ten, Murree nine and Saidu Sharif eight millimetre.
In the next twelve hours, more intermittent rain-thunderstorm with snowfall over the hills is expected at scattered places in Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Gujranwala, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Lahore, Malakand, Hazara, Peshawar, Kohat, Bannu, Mardan divisions, FATA, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir.
Meanwhile, snowfall has also blanketed Murree after which tourists have flooded the city to enjoy the weather. Many cars were stuck as well due to blockage of roads. Mountains and trees in Galyat, Malam Jabba and Thandiani also remained under the veil of snow.
Islamabad, Rawalpindi, Lahore, Peshawar and other cities have the drizzle while heavy rain took place in Astore, Muzaffarabad, Bagh, Neelum, Chitral, Hattian and Rawalkot.
Malakand, Hazara divisions, Galliyat, Gilgit-Baltistan and Kashmir are expected to have light to moderate snow fall. Meanwhile dense fog has affected the daily life in many cities of the country.
