MULTAN: Seed cotton (Phutti) 9,778,451  bales have reached ginneries across Pakistan till Dec 1, 2016,  registering increase of 13.28 per cent compared to  corresponding period of the last year.
According to a fortnightly report of the Pakistan Cotton  Ginners Association (PCGA) issued here, out of total arrivals,  Phutti equivalent to 8,900,666 bales have undergone the  ginning process till December 1. However, the process of  ginning is in progress also.
The Trading Corporation of Pakistan (TCP) has not started purchase of cotton so far. However, exporters purchased 184,944 cotton bales.
Textile mills have purchased 7,683,980 bales during the recent season. Exactly 199,527 bales were still lying with the ginneries as the unsold stock, the report added.
