Pakistan to participate in Cuban trade show: FPCCI

imageISLAMABAD: The Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) Monday said Pakistan would participate in Cuban trade show, an annual event in which around seventy countries take part.

While talking to Ambassador of Cuba to Pakistan Gabriel Tiel Capote, President, FPCCI Abdul Rauf Alam said, Pakistan can reach the Latin American markets through Cuba to increase exports."

Other business leaders were also present on the occasion.

Rauf Alam said, Pakistani business community can build bridges with participants from seventy countries which are taking part in the mega event.

He said, Pakistani textiles, sports goods, surgical instruments, leather goods and rice are in great demand in Cuba but our exporters are not paying proper attention to it.

He said, he will try to forge close ties between the Cuba Chamber of Commerce and FPCCI to improve relations as well as trade.

At the occasion, Ambassador of Cuba Gabriel Tiel Capote said health and medical education system of Cuba was considered one of the best in the world and we desire to upgrade Pakistani system to that level.

"We have offered biggest ever fully paid scholarship programme to Pakistan under which thousands of Pakistani students got medical education," he informed.

The ambassador said, relations between Pakistan and Cuba were based on mutual trust and confidence; our ties are growing that must be converted into trade and economic cooperation.

He said we are ready for transfer of medical related technology and training facility to local technicians.
