LAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif Saturday ordered foolproof security arrangements on the occasion of Chehlum of the Hazrat Imam Hussain (AS) and Urs of Hazrat Data Gunj Bakhsh (RA).
Issuing instructions to Provincial Cabinet Committee on Law & Order, Shehbaz Sharif directed that all out measures should be taken for the protection of life and property of citizens. Elected representatives, administration and police officers should play their due role for maintaining law and order, he said.
According to a handout, he said the plan evolved with regard to security should be implemented at any cost and a watchful eye should be kept on miscreants.
Shehbaz Sharif said nothing could be more important than protection of life and property of citizens and law enforcement agencies should remain fully alert and maintain a close coordination.
He directed senior police officers to spare no effort in the implementation of security plan in their respective areas and should personally undertake patrolling and review the efficiency of officers and staff.
