ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) will be providing a helping hand to the banned leg-spinner, Danish Kaneria in finding a well-paying permanent employment in any of the cricket playing department.
Kaneria, was life banned by England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) in June 2012. According to him ECB had banned him from playing cricket based on the mere false statements of convicted English Country cricketer, Mervyn Westfield.
The offer that Kaneria will be provided with an employment was made by PCB in the National Assembly Standing Committee on Inter Provincial Coordination (IPC) held last month.
In the meeting, committee member Ramesh Kumar Vankwani raised a question to PCB regarding Kaneria on which the PCB replied that somehow it will be sorted out to find an employment for Kaneria in the departments affiliated with PCB.
However, when contacted a PCB official told APP that no progress on this matter has been made yet. "PCB has not yet contacted any of its affiliated departments for Kaneria`s employment," he said.
Meanwhile, Kaneria also told this scribe that no contact has been made to him by PCB regarding his employment.
But Kaneria said, PCB must find a way out for him so that he could continue with the game of cricket to earn for a living. Kaneria said if PCB allows him to play domestic cricket then it would be a great help for him.
Responding to a question, Kaneria said if PCB's helps him in getting some employment other than cricket then it would be difficult for him as the only thing in his whole life he has worked for is cricket and nothing else.
