WARSAW: The slowdown of Polish economic growth in the third quarter is not a reason for excessive concern, but it should be discussed by the rate-setting panel, central banker Kamil Zubelewicz said on Tuesday.
"When analyzing third-quarter gross domestic product data we must remember about the slowdown in Germany," he told Reuters. "In case of GDP data, we are also dealing with a cyclical weakening of some growth components."
Poland's annual economic growth slowed to its weakest level in three years in the third quarter, data showed on Tuesday, with economists saying a fall in investment was most likely responsible for the slump.
"This (the slowdown) is not yet a reason for excessive concern, but rather a phenomenon that requires careful discussion by the Monetary Policy Council," he said.
