Shehbaz Sharif, Murad Ali Shah meet at Lahore Airport

imageLAHORE: Punjab Chief Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif and Chief Minister Sindh Murad Ali Shah met at Lahore Airport, on Monday.

Matters of mutual interest, promotion of interprovincial harmony and other issues were discussed on the occasion.

Both the chief ministers expressed determination to further strengthen relations between the two provinces as well as agreed to promote mutual cooperation.

Talking to Sindh Chief Minister, Shehbaz Sharif said that Pakistan comprised four units as well as Azad Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan and all of them would have to move forward with complete harmony for resolving the problems being faced by the country.

He said that there was a need to promote unity for strengthening of the country.

He said that collective efforts were needed for progress and development of Pakistan.

He said that it was time to set aside personal interests and give preference to national interests.

Shehbaz Sharif said that talented students of Sindh as well as other provinces had been included in the educational programme of Punjab and this step of the provincial government was resulting in promotion of national solidarity.

He said that all provinces of Pakistan as well as federal government were moving forward with complete harmony in the war against terrorism. He said that the decisions taken with collective wisdom and joint efforts would yield results and Pakistan would become a haven of peace and tranquility.

Shehbaz Sharif condoled with Chief Minister Sindh and members of Sindh cabinet over the death of senior leader of Peoples Party Jehangir Badar and paid tributes to his political and democratic services.

He said that Jehangir Badar rendered invaluable services for democracy and Peoples Party had lost a sincere worker and leader who faced oppression and atrocities for safeguarding democracy.

He said that workers of Peoples Party loved Jehangir Badar and in his death the country had lost a true politician.

Speaking on the occasion, Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah appreciated the sentiments of Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif.

Provincial Ministers of Sindh Manzoor Wasan, Nisar Ahmed Khoro, Nasir Shah, Jam Mehtab, Imdad Patafi and other leaders of Peoples Party as well as Provincial Minister Rana Mashhood Ahmed were also present.

The meeting also prayed for the departed soul of late Jehangir Badar.

Later, Chief Minister Shehbaz Sharif gave farewell to Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah.
