HYDERABAD: The State Minister and Chairperson Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) Marvi Memon has underlined the need of revitalizing the spirit of Sufi teaching for the betterment of the society.
"To be human is to be fair with other humans and not to hurt them", she said and adding that this is the core message of Sufism that is not being practiced in true sense that is why Pakistan is unable to achieve peace and harmony.
She expressed these remarks during her visit to Bhitshah district Matiari? on Monday? where three days annual Urs cerebrations of great Sufi Saint Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai are going to start from tomorrow.
Besides a large number of devotees, Sajjada Nasheen Bhitshah Syed Waqar Hussain Shah, Sajada Nasheen Dargah Khawaja Moeen-ud-din Chishti Bilal Shah and a number of other Sajjada Nasheens of various dargahs from across Pakistan also present on the occasion.
Marvi Memon said that Hazrat Shah Abdul latif Bhitai preached the message of peace, patriotism, humanity, integrity, sincerity, love for land and its people are the guiding principles that can serve as a beacon of light in current situation in which terror elements are trying to usurper peace and harmony.
The State Minister also expressed her deep grief over the loss of innocent lives in an attack at Dargah Shah Noorani at Hub.
She said the government stands with the families of the deceased and the injured and perpetrators would be brought to justice soon.
She said that the shrines were a place of peace and comfort for the dejected and worrywart.
They serve as a fountain of inspiration and humanity for the masses and terror attacks cannot keep the public away from their source of hope and tranquility, she said and added, "We are a resilient nation that has been fighting the terror menace for more than a decade and cowardly attacks like this had failed badly in blocking our progress towards development".
The Chairperson BISP reiterated that the implementation of the philosophy of great mystic poets like Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai, Hazrat Ali Hajvari Data Ganj Bakhsh and Bari Imam could root out terrorism from the world with restoration of the spirit of love, peace, humanity, affection and brotherhood.
"We need tolerance to co-exist and love to show care to everyone irrespective of caste, creed and religion. Referring to the verses from poetry of Hazrat Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai", she said and added that patience, humanity and forbearance bring joy and peace whereas anger and hatred can do no good to humanity.
She said, "we need to follow the message of love, tolerance and humanity for prosperity and peace as preached by great Sufi Saint".
