LAHORE: The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Monday ordered the removal of Ali Musa Gillani’s name from Exit Control List (ECL) in the ephedrine quota case.
The interior ministry had placed name of former Prime Minister Yousuf Raza Gilani’s son in ECL in the 2012 case.
During the hearing of the case today, a single bench of LHC comprising Justice Shams Mehmood Mirza directed the interior ministry to remove Gilani’s name from the ECL.
The petitioner pleaded in the court that Ali Moosa Gilani’s name was included in the ECL since the last 4 years, terming the interior ministry’s move as illegal and unconstitutional.
Ali Musa was accused of pressing officials of the Health Ministry in 2010 to allocate a quota of a controlled chemical, ephedrine, to two different pharmaceutical companies.
