naveed_1ISLAMABAD: Minister for Water and Power Naveed Qamar on Wednesday assured National Assembly that the unannounced loadshedding will end in next two or three days with an addition of 2000 mega watt in the national grid.

He said the government will invite private sector on efficiency sharing basis in order to improve governance and distribution system, adding that Managers are being invited to run the power distribution system as a modern utility company.

Speaking in the National Assembly during a debate on energy crisis, load-shedding, price hike in petroleum products, he said that 3000 MW has been added in the national grid during the last 38 hours which helped stabilize the system.

He expressed apology to the nation for inconvenience caused due to loadshedding and said that the situation went from bad to worsen due to closure of nuclear power plants, water crisis and disruption of fuel supply at the same time.

He assured the House that 2000 MW would be added in next two or three days which would help end unannounced loadshedding and control the loadshedding in peek hours.

Realizing the severity of the crisis, he said these measures are not enough and steps are being taken to improve power supply as well as governance, adding that reforms and induction of money are very necessary measures to resolve the issue of circular debt.

He said loadshedding is a technical issue and the government needs inputs to resolve in permanently, therefore the representatives of the people should have to give their suggestions in the House instead of staging protests on streets.

He said the protest is not a solution to any problem rather it further aggravates the situation.
