Calligraphic exhibition opened at RAC

imageRAWALPINDI: Rawalpindi Arts Council (RAC) here on Monday arranged a group calligraphic exhibition of young artists at its art gallery in connection with the sacred month of Ramzan.

The artists who put on display their works are Neelofar Raja, Usman Mirza, Shah Nawaz, Lubna Khatoon, Muhammad Ali Imran, Muhammad Shakil Tabasum, Saif Ali, Humayon Khan, Zarfishan Fawad, Razia Shabir, Muhammad Imran, Humayon Kamran, Fazal Muhammad, Zafar-ul-Haq, Sajid Ali Sipra, Muhammad Israr, Sayadullah, Asma Younis, Imran, Salah-ud-Din Safdar, Mazhar Shahzad and Amna Latif.

Member National Assembly Tahira Aurangzeb flanked by Resident Director RAC Waqar Ahmed inaugurated the exhibition which will continue till June 18.

A number of calligraphy fanciers, artists, students from different art institutions visited the gallery where more than 50 art pieces have been put on display.

The artists coloured oil on canvas calligraphy and water color caught the attention of the viewers at first glance.

Tahira Aurangzeb addressing at the inaugural ceremony said, it is a lovely exhibition which is a fine combination of traditional and contemporary calligraphy while the artists have a taste of their own.

RAC Waqar Ahmed thanking all the participants said, the exhibition has a lot to offer in terms of experimental work, new ideas and usage of khats.
