imageKARACHI: Sindh government has allocated a 100 acre plot in Hyderabad as dedicated land fill site for the city that generates 1500 tons of garbage on daily basis.

Roshan Ali Shaikh, the Managing Director, Sindh Solid Waste Management Board briefing the US based private investors about solid waste management schemes in Hyderabad as well as other cities in the province said a multi-pronged approach is being adopted for the purpose.

The investors, including those actively engaged in recycling of waste in Chicago, USA, on the occasion expressed their interest in the project and also appreciated the schemes for Garbage Transfer Stations (GSTs), door to door garbage collection and efficient recycling of varied categories of waste.

They agreed that the waste could be converted into source of cost effective energy without any compromise to public health.
