Surgical search operation being conducted

KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Manzoor Hussain Wasan has said that 54 alleged outlaws were arrested, one killed and six were injured during the “surgical search operation in nine selective parts of the city since its beginning on Tuesday evening”.

"The current operation at selective parts of the city will have very positive impact on law and order situation," he said while talking to media persons at Shaheed Benazir Bhutto Police Training Centre, Razakabad, here on Wednesday after witnessing the passing-out parade of 12th Eaglet Batch.

He said cases have been registered against the accused and added that the operation was being conducted jointly by the Police and Rangers.

Wasan said that 11 target killers have also been arrested from various parts of the metropolis during the last 48 hours and they will be produced before the media soon.

The operation was being conducted without any discrimination and political affiliation, he said and added that the surgical operation will continue till the goals are achieved by the government to restore peace in the economic hub city.

Earlier, in his address to Eaglets after witnessing the passing out parade, the home minister said that 327 commandos including women cadres have completed their training.

Besides Karachi, he said that the Eaglet force will also be deployed in other parts of the province to boost the morale of the regular force.

He said that the salaries of the police force will be brought at par with that of those in the Punjab province as President has also approved funds in this regard.

The police force will be equipped with latest weapons and other gadgets as well, he maintained.

The IGP Sindh, Wajid Ali Durrani was also present on the occasion.
