Government taking steps to promote trade activities: Governor
LAHORE: Punjab Governor Sardar Latif Khosa has said the government is taking solid and effective steps for the promotion of trade activities in the country.
He was talking to Qaumi Taajir Ittihad Punjab (QTIP) delegation and office-bearers of other trade bodies of Lahore, who called on him at Governor House on Tuesday.
Acknowledging the traders' vital role in the economic development of Pakistan, he said, despite all odds in the business, the traders community is not only keeping the economic wheel on the move but also contributing actively in the public welfare and relief activities.
The trader’s delegation apprised the Governor about the local administration's operation against the Fruit-vegetable Market at Kot Lakhpat as well as other problems being faced by them. They urged the federal government to ensure protection to the lives and properties of the businessmen in accordance with the provisions of the Constitution.
The Governor, however, assured the traders of extending full support in resolving their problems at the earliest.
