NA speaker seeks support of health professionals for flood affectees

national-assemblyISLAMABAD: Speaker National Assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza has called upon the voluntary organizations and health professionals to come forward and support the flood affected people of Badin.

She said that government health sector was lacking the capacity to handle the post floods health problems.

Inaugurating the Tele Health System for providing suggestion to the patient through innovative technology, she said 95% population of the Badin was affected by the floods and were facing diverse problems including health.

She said the government has taken various steps through own sources, however, she appealed to voluntary organizations and health professionals to help the people in need.

She also impressed upon International Red Crescent Society for intensifying its support for the rain affected people.

Later, a team of Fauji Foundation Dharki Power Plant visited Badin and handed over 600 bags of food items to the Speaker National Assembly for distribution to the rain and flood affected people in Badin.

The Speaker thanked the Managing Director for providing edible items for the rain and flood victims of Badin.

The Speaker also called a meeting of the Irrigation Department and reviewed the progress of drainage of water from the rain affected areas.

She directed for intensifying the process so that the stagnant water does not cause diseases.

Meanwhile, She visited the flood affected areas and monitor the ongoing relief work. MPA Dr. Sikandar Mandhro and DCO Badin Dr. Kazim Jatoi were also present during the meeting.
