NEW DELHI: Indian anti-corruption activist Anna Hazare left jail Friday to start a 15-day hunger strike that poses a fresh threat to the government, following mass nationwide protests against official graft.
A huge crowd of frenzied, flag-waving supporters cheered the 74-year-old as he walked out of the gates of Delhi's Tihar jail -- his de-facto campaign headquarters since he was taken into police custody three days ago.
