SEOUL : South Korean shares slumped 4.49 percent in morning trade Friday on renewed fears over a global recession.

SEOUL: South Korean shares slumped 4.49 percent in morning trade Friday on renewed fears over a global recession.
The benchmark KOSPI stood at 1,777,13, down 83.45 points, by lunchtime.
Blue chips fell across the board and shares of chemical companies and financials were also down sharply.
