PESHAWAR: On completion of two parliamentary years on Friday, the Speaker Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly Asad Qaiser felicitated the members and informed that the House passed 37 bills during the period.
On the occasion he read out the second year parliamentary report of hundred days before the house and informed that a total 44 bills was presented in the house, of those 37 bills were passes and three were referred to concern committees for further consideration.
He mentioned that the most important bills of public interest were KP Civil Servant Retirement Benefits and Death Compensation Bill, 2014, KP Senior Citizen Bill, 2014, KP Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority Bill, 2014, KP Health Care Commission Bill, 2015, KP Universities (Amendment) Bill, 2015, KP Medical Officers (regularization of Services) Bill 2015.
He added the House received five private members bills and one of those was passed by the House while two were under consideration and two were just laid in the House.
The Speaker said the House received 102 resolutions, of those 38 were discussed. The house also received a total 826 questions through legislators and 227 questioned were answered by the concerned ministers.
He further told that the House received 227 call attention notices and 45 were responded by the ministers concerned. Similarly, 41 adjournment motions were received, of those 11 were discussed in detail.
Speaker Asad Qaiser appreciated the role of Mufti Said Janan, Mufti Fazal Ghafoor, Sobia Shahid, Meraj Humayoon, Amna Sardar, Munawar Khan, Syed Jafar Shah and Sardar Muhammad Idrees in the legislation process. Later, the House was adjourned to meet again on June 15 at 1400 hours.
