SEOUL: South Korean shares closed 0.68 percent higher on Wednesday as demand by individuals offset slowing purchases by foreign investors.
The benchmark KOSPI index ended 12.80 points higher at 1,892.67, a day after rallying nearly five percent as foreign investors turned net buyers after days of heavy selling.
Samsung Electronics, South Korea's largest company by value, closed 0.27 percent higher, while top automaker Hyundai Motor shed 1.23 percent.
