CJ orders cancellation of leaves of Zafar Qureshi’s team

ISLAMABAD: During a hearing of the National Insurance Company Limited (NICL) scam case on Tuesday, Chief Justice Iftikhar Mohammad Chaudhry ordered the cancellation of the leaves of Zafar Qureshi’s team members and summoned them to court on Wednesday.

Moreover, Chief Justice Iftikhar also directed the inclusion of Federal Investigation Agency’s Director General Tehseen Anwar Shah in the team probing the scam.
During the hearing, Qureshi presented a report regarding his resumption of charge as Additional Director General of the FIA.
Qureshi told the court that he had not been able to meet with his team and that the members of his team had been sent on forced leaves.
He moreover reported that he was stopped from attending office on the pretext of a bomb threat which later turned out to be a hoax.
Responding to the report, Chief Justice Iftikhar ordered the initiatiation of proceedings against those responsible for stopping Qureshi.
