MALAKAND: At least 15 people were injured when a Mardan bound passenger coach plunged into deep gorge here on Friday, officials said.
The incident occurred when the driver of ill-fated coach (AKA 865) lost control over the vehicle while negotiating a sharp turn near Malakand Tunnel and it fell into deep gorge. The coach was coming from Timergara, Dir Lower to Mardan. The injured were rushed to Dargai hospital where condition of several was stated to be critical.
The injured were identified as Shah Jehan, Shahib Jan, Shah Khalid residents of Bajaur, Hazrat Ali, Asleeba Bibi, Najmuddin residents of Dir, Farid Khan, Amjad Ali, Khaista Bibi, Shahida Bibi, Shahibzadgai, Shabir, Gul Haleem and Alamzaib.
Emergency was declared in Dargai Hospital where doctors on leave were also called in for duty.
