ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rehman Malik on Friday called upon all the political parties to join hands and assist the government to foil conspiracies being hatched to destabilize the country.
Winding up debate on the Law and Order situation in Karachi and Quetta he assured the National Assembly that target killing in Karachi has been controlled while there are some small groups involved in various crimes, for whom the local Station House Officers were held responsible to maintain the law and order in the their respective areas.
The Minister said that a Parliamentary Committee of all the political parties be constituted to suggest a durable solution to the law and order situation for the economic hub of the country. He said the said committee should sit in Karachi where the interior ministry and provincial government would be at its disposal.
He said the said committee would be told about the entire operation of drug and land mafia and local criminals in Karachi and all the facts would be placed before them.
The Minister said that the accused of terrorists incidents were freed by the courts due to lack of evidences and for that the Government had submitted a bill in the Senate. He said that one and half year has been passed but the bill is still there. He said if there is any problem there it should be discussed in the National Assembly.
