TOKYO: Japanese shares lost 0.20 percent Friday on late selling, as investors remained cautious amid the week's global market turmoil and as fears over the global economy persisted, brokers said.
The benchmark Nikkei index of the Tokyo Stock Exchange fell 18.22 points to 8,963.72. The Topix index of all first section shares declined 0.35 percent or 2.69 points to 768.19.
