Anjum Aqeel escape case: 31 persons get bail from court
RAWALPINDI: The court has approved bails of 31 persons including Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) Anjum Aqeel in Rawalpindi’s police escape case.
Earlier on July 15, a member of PML-N MNA Anjum Aqeel, who was imprisoned under police custody at Shalimar Jail in Islamabad for alleged involvement in a police foundation land scam case, had broken the jail through assistance of his aides and fled away.
Meanwhile, Islamabad police registered a case and arrested SPO and SHO of Shalimar Police Station on charges of rendering negligence in the line of duty.
According to the details, while Anjum was being brought to Shalimar Police Station, the police mobile van came under attack by PML-N’s alleged activists who shifted Anjum Aqeel in their car and fled away.
On July 16, Anjum Aqeel surrendered before the police and he along with those who kidnapped him from the police mobile were taken into custody and later on an ATC court sent them to jail.
