stockHONG KONG: Hong Kong shares jumped 1.51 percent Monday morning after US President Barack Obama announced a cross-party agreement that puts the world's richest country on course to avoid a debt default.

The benchmark Hang Seng Index rose 338.89 points at 22,779.14 on turnover of HK$31.35 billion ($4.05 billion).
