Provincial Housing Dept, developers to launch project on public-private partnership

Normal 0 MicrosoftInternetExplorer4 Construction of BuildingPESHAWAR: The Provincial Housing Department and private developers Thursday held discussion on bringing improvement in the housing sector through public-private partnership and for resolution of problems being faced by developers.

The meeting was convened by Secretary Housing, Khalid Khan at his office, said a press release issued here on Thursday.

During the meeting, Secretary Housing apprised private developers that department has launched several projects for provision of housing facility to both common people and government servants.

The Housing department, he added, wants to encourage private sector by launching new schemes on public-private partnership.

Housing about the problems being faced by them in completion of housing projects. They highlighted several difficulties being faced by them while processing of documents in PDA, WAPDA, Police and TMA.

The private developers said the biggest problem in completion of housing scheme is obtaining NOC from Wapda where, they added, after submission of required face, they have to wait from several months and in same cases for years.

Private developers also demanded security arrangement by Police in making a housing scheme a success because the inhabitants demands security.

Later in the meeting, it was decided that Secretary Housing will take up all these problems with the relevant departments.
