ISLAMABAD: Senator Robina Khalid on Tuesday demanded blocking of all unregistered subscriber identification modules (SIMs) as they were being used by terrorists.
Participating in the debate in Senate on Peshawar School Tragedy, she said the government should take action against the cellular companies, who are issuing SIMs without registration.
She said also demanded prompt action against Moulana Abdul Aziz for his pro Taliban stance.
Senator Saeed Ghani said that the whole nation was in deep shock and grief over the sad demise of 134 innocent children at Army Public School, Peshawar.
He strongly condemned the Peshawar incident and said it perturbed him and every citizen of the country felt sorrow over the killings of little angels.
He said the terrorism had engulfed the whole society adding that the political parties and their leaders should strongly fight terrorism.
Saeed Ghani said that stern action should be taken against the sympathizers and apologists of Taliban. Terrorists were killing the innocent people to spread fear among the masses.
Senator Chaudhry Jaffar Iqbal said he has no words for the condemnation of Peshawar incident and example could not be found in the history.
He said the Prime Minister reached Peshawar immediately after the incident and took on board all political parties on the issue.
He said the whole nation should stand against the terrorism. He said there is need of national spirit for the development and prosperity of the country.
Senator Khalida Parveen declared that the Peshawar incident is worst barbarity of human being.
She said terrorism was a serious issue and it was spreading in different parts of the country.
Senator Mukhtiar Dhamra said that terrorism in the country was born during the past regimes of dictators.
He said Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), has rendered sacrifices of their leaders for the sake of country adding that Benizir Bhutto was also martyred by the terrorists.
He said PPP could not run its election campaign effectively during the last general election due to terrorism threats.
Participating in the debate in Senate on Peshawar Tragedy, Senator Kamil Ali Agha said strong measures must be made to prevent terrorism. The policies must be implemented in letter and spirit.
He said the whole nation is in deep sorrow and those who were involved in the incident were not human beings.
He said that incident of Army Public School was a tragedy of the worst kind.
Senator Sardar Ali Khan said his heart bled for the victims of Army Public School.
He paid tribute to the Pakistan Army for their sacrifices rendered in war against terror.
He said that Afghan refugees should be repatriated. Taj Haider of Pakistan Peoples Party Parliamentarians (PPPP) said the country needed economic revolution and natural gas should be imported from Iran and Central Asian States for achieving the targets.
Preventive measures should be taken to avoid recurrence of more terror incidents. Intelligence network should also be made more efficient and people should be asked to keep vigil around them. Ahmed Hassan of PPPP said according to his opinion five million Afghan refugees were still residing in the country.
