MOSCOW: Russian gas oil exports climbed 17.7 percent in November from the month before, while shipments of fuel oil increased by 13.4 percent, Energy Ministry data and Reuters calculations showed. Gasoline exports rose 2.9 percent, according to the numbers.
Russian domestic supplies of gas oil and fuel oil decreased in November by 4.8 percent and 4.7 percent respectively, while local supply of gasoline rose 4.8 percent.
After seasonal maintenance, the Salavat refinery, owned by Gazprom, increased its gas oil production by 45.7 percent and its gas oil exports by 151.7 percent.
The Omsk refinery, owned by Gazprom Neft, increased its gas oil exports by 77.2 percent to 252,144 tonnes in November.
Rosneft's Syzran refinery boosted gas oil and fuel oil production after seasonal maintenance by 51.4 percent and 59.2 percent respectively. Its exports of gas oil rose by 12.5 percent and its shipments of fuel oil by 103.9 percent from the month before.
A small fire in early November at the pumping unit of a visbreaker at a crude distillation unit in the Saratov refinery, owned by Rosneft, was quickly extinguished and did not affect production.
Unplanned maintenance at the hydrocracking complex at the Kirishi refinery in northwest Russia, owned by Surgutneftegaz , has been extended until Dec. 16. The complex was hit by a fire in June.
The hydrocracking complex, the largest in Europe, usually produces 100,000 tonnes of diesel a month, while the entire plant has been churning out more than 500,000 tonnes of ultra-low sulphur diesel a month.
YEAR-ON-YEAR
Compared with a year ago, Russian gasoline exports in November fell 12.7 percent, while domestic shipments were down 0.5 percent. Total gasoline output dropped 0.6 percent to 3.237 million tonnes compared with 3.256 million tonnes in the same period last year.
Gasoil exports increased by 20.4 percent, while local supplies fell 9.8 percent. Total production of gasoil rose in November by 9.1 percent year-on-year to 6.513 million tonnes.
Domestic and export shipments of fuel oil increased by 9.0 percent and by 3.7 percent respectively. Fuel oil output was up 3.5 percent on a yearly basis at 6.807 million tonnes.
