Hina Rabbani KharISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Syed Yousaf Raza Gilani on Monday approved a summary to elevate Hina Rabbani Khar, minister of state for foreign affairs, as a full-fledged foreign minister.

According to the media reports, the summary has now been sent to President Asif Ali Zardari for his approval.

The position had been vacant since the reshuffle in the federal cabinet in February.

The move to appoint a full-time foreign minister has gained urgency as the talks between foreign ministers of India and Pakistan are going to be held at end of this month in New Delhi.
