Libya rebels shelling Qadhafi loyalist town of Asaba

OUTSIDE ASABA: Libyan rebels were shelling on Wednesday night the town of Asaba, to which loyalist troops had retreated under fire after failing to recapture the desert hamlet of Gualish, an AFP journalist witnessed.

Dug in on the hills above the strategic town on the highway to Tripoli, the rebels were firing heavy and small arms and troops loyal to strongman Moamer Qadhafi were responding with Grad rockets, said the correspondent, embedded with the rebels.
