SEOUL: Seoul shares opened slightly higher on Wednesday after three consecutive days of losses that had pushed the index to its lowest level this month, as investors snapped up battered stocks such as SK Telecom.
The Korea Composite Stock Price Index (KOSPI) rose 0.47 percent to 2,119.64 points minutes after the market open. The index dropped 2.2 percent on Tuesday, its biggest daily loss in more than one month.
