ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari on Monday strongly condemned the suicide attack at Battagram, near the public gathering of PML-Q leader Ameer Muqam and expressed determination of the government to fight extremism and terrorism to its logical conclusion.
The President telephoned the PML-Q leader and expressed solidarity with him. He enquired about his well-being and asked him to convey his sympathies to the families of those who lost their loved ones in the heinous attack.
The President said the attempts by the terrorists, now to target the political leaders, was highly condemnable and said the people and their leaders remain firm in their resolve to fight terrorism till the end.
He said country's law-enforcement agencies and the government were determined to rooting out terrorism from the country.
The President also asked the local authorities to ensure that best possible treatment was provided to those injured. He also called for taking stringent measures to ensure that there was no recurrence of such incidents.
