US 30-year bond trades a point higher in price

NEW YORK : US 30-year Treasury bonds traded a point higher in price early on Monday as worries over contagion from debt

 NEW YORK: US 30-year Treasury bonds traded a point higher in price early on Monday as worries over contagion from debt problems in Europe stoked safe-haven buying of US government debt.

The 30-year Treasury bond yielded 4.24 percent, down from 4.29 percent late Friday. Benchmark 10-year Treasury notes were trading 20/32 higher in price with their yield slipping back below 3 percent to 2.96 percent, down from 3.03 percent late Friday
