Karachi to be made citadel of peace: Manzoor Wassan
KARACHI: The newly inducted Sindh Home Minister, Manzoor Hussain Wassan has said that he was determined to make Karachi a citadel of peace in the coming days.
"I will do my best to go along with all political parties in reconcialiation to bring back peace to the city," he said while addressing a press conference here on Saturday along with IGP Sindh Wajid Durrani and CCPO Karachi Saud Mirza at Police head office.
He said that recently 77 target killings took place while 157 accused were arrested.
Wassan said that he has taken the charge in difficult times, however, he vowed to curb lawlessness with the help of political parties and the media.
He said that recent target killings claimed lives of 77 people in Karachi.
"We cannot ignore the involvement of drug and land mafia in target killings," he said.
The Home Minister said that the criminals had taken cover of political parties and they will be nabbed soon.
