SC suspends notification regarding transfer of ADG FIA
ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court on Friday struck down a notification issued by the Establishment Division regarding transfer of Additional Director General Federal Investigation Agency Zafar Ahmed Qureshi tasked to investigate multi-billion National Insurance Company Limited scam.
A three-Judge bench headed by Chief Justice Iftikhar Muhammad Chaudhry on a contempt of Court issue against secretaries ministries of interior, establishment division and Principal secretary to the Prime Minister, observed in its order that transfer of such an honest officer who had recovered Rs1.74 billion in the scam was not warranted.
The bench directed the Director General FIA to fully assist the official in completing the investigation of the case.
Further hearing of the case was adjourned till date in office.
