PESHAWAR: In order to improve the socio-economic status of small growers, the district administrations of Upper and Lower Dir distributed free agricultural inputs including certified wheat & fodder seeds and quality fertilizers among 3410 small growers.
This intervention would help restore livelihood of poor and small growers as well as boost up wheat and fodder productivity in the region.
A press release issued by Malakand Development Program (MDP) stated that the administration of Upper Dir in collaboration with Agriculture Department organized a ceremony at model Farm Services Center (FSC) Dir where about 1800 farmers, registered with Farm Services Center, were provided quality wheat seeds and fertilizers.
Similarly in Lower Dir, the district administration also distributed free wheat seeds and quality fertilizer among 1560 farmers, who were the registered members of Farm Services Center.
Meanwhile the district administration of Upper Dir in collaboration with Livestock Department delivered special training to farmers on fodder seed's cultivation.
The training session was organized at Farm Service Center (FSC) Dir Khas where around 50 growers received training on advance methods of fodder seed's sowing.
At the end of the session, fodder seeds and quality fertilizers were distributed among 50 growers. The move will not only help increase crops and livestock production, but farmers would also be able to provide diet food to dairy cattle.
