imageISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Pervaiz Rashid has said that the Pakistan Muslim League-N government is committed to ensure supremacy of rule of law and Constitution.

He said the government was striving for the stability of democratic institutions, which was possible only through respect and sanctity of the Constitution.

The Constitution was a sacred document and no individual or institution could be allowed to abrogate it, he said while talking to a private television.

Replying to a question, he said the government had decided to pursue the high treason case against former dictator Pervez Musharraf for establishing rule of law.

This case will be a victory for the people, institutions and democracy in the country, he added.

He said that the economic stability was related to foreign investment, which could only be attracted through maintaining the rule of law in the country.

Replying to another question, Pervaiz Rashid said the government would soon announce a security policy in consultation with all the political parties and security institutions.

The minister said the top priority of the government was to overcome the energy crisis and tackle the issue of terrorism.

He said that democracy was the only solution to all issues, including terrorism and for that the continuity of democratic process should be ensured.

Pervaiz Rashid said the government believed in dialogue and all the issues would be resolved with consensus and consultation of all the stakeholders.

He strongly condemned the killing of mountaineers in Gilgit, saying that all-out efforts would be made to root out terrorism from the country.
