ISLAMABAD: Acting Speaker of National Assembly Faisal Karim Kundi on Thursday said that steps are being taken for economic uplift of the country and improving the living standard of common man.
He said this while addressing the seminar on "Unrest in Egypt, Libya, Bahrain, Yemen and Tunisia- Its economic impacts", organized by Siraiki Journalists Forum (SJF).
Kundi urged the leaders of all the political parties to sit together and make joint efforts to curb terrorism and economic development of the country.
It is moral and political responsibility of every political party to play due role for prosperity of the country, he added
He said some anti-state elements are active to de-stabilise the country however they will fail to fulfil their nefarious designs.
He said now the democratic institutions of the country are strengthened and are working in smooth manner. He said it is good sign that all political parties have always fully supported any such move that helped to strengthen democracy including unanimously passing of 18th and 19th amendments.
He appreciated the efforts of Siraiki Journalists Forum for raising public awareness on important international and national issues.
Earlier, Chairman Siraiki Journalists Forum (SJF) Ali Raza Alvi, President SJF Mujahid Bhatti and General Secretary SJF Yawar Abbas briefed about the forum and its objectives.
