LONDON: The euro fell by one percent against sterling to a session low on Thursday after sluggish euro zone economic data weakened the single currency across the board.
The euro fell to as low as 86.30 pence, moving further away from the near 16-month high of 87.645 pence hit on Wednesday. Sterling was also helped by better-than-expected UK public finance data.
