SANAA: Yemen's opposition demanding President Ali Abdullah Saleh's ouster is ready to hold talks in Saudi Arabia but only to discuss a "transfer of power", its spokesman Mohammed Qahtan said on Tuesday.
"We have welcomed (a GCC invitation) and said we will attend, but to discuss a transfer of power only," Qahtan told AFP, adding the talks would be held in Riyadh but without giving a date.
The Gulf Cooperation Council at a meeting of foreign ministers in Riyadh on Sunday offered to mediate in the two-month-long deadly showdown between Saleh's regime and demonstrators across Yemen.
