ASTANA: President Nursultan Nazarbayev won 95.55 percent of the vote in Kazakhstan's presidential polls, extending his hold on power by five years, the Central Election Commission said in its final report Tuesday.
The final tally slightly revised up the 95.5 percent figure released a day after Sunday's presidential election.
The full turnout figure was reported at 89.99 percent, up from the 89.9 percent reported on Monday.
The poll was criticised by observers from the Organisation for Security and Cooperation in Europe for falling short of "genuine democratic" standards and including cases of ballot stuffing and a state effort to compel people to vote.
The election was boycotted by the opposition and featured three challengers who had all previously expressed support for the 70-year-old incumbent's policies.
