DRAP approves country's first Covid-19 testing kit, says Fawad

  • The local testing kits for coronavirus would be available in the market soon

(Karachi) Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Hussain has said that the government has achieved another landmark as Drug Regulatory Authority of Pakistan (DRAP) has approved country's first coronavirus testing kit.

In a tweet on Friday, he said, "Our brilliant scientists ...you people have made us proud ... this ll bring significant cost reduction of COVID tests also ll save huge import bill."

He added, "I congratulate NUST officials and our brilliant scientists."

Earlier, Fawad Chaudhry said that the local testing kits for Covid-19 would be available in the market soon after the approval from DRAP.

The National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) had developed 1.5 million testing kits, which were forwarded to DRAP for approval.
