Although prime minister Imran Khan has sought details of all illegal recruitments in various ministries and departments, I'm not sure about government's sincerity of purpose. Over the years, these ministries, departments, semi-autonomous agencies have been playing the role of employment bureaus of successive governments.
It has been reported by media that the PM has sought details of "illegal" recruitments in various ministries and 27 divisions and departments of the federal government.
But this is not sufficient. What about the provincial governments and their departments where there exist even 'ghost' employees in large numbers? Provincial governments are also required to undertake a similar exercise to take action not only against those who were recruited illegally but also the officials who sanctioned such appointments.
