CM Murad Ali wants answers regarding Irshad Ranjhani's death

Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah took notice on Saturday of the killing of Jeay Sindh Tehreek's (JST) Karachi President Irshad Ranjhani and has ordered Inspector General of Police (IGP) Syed Kaleem Imam to investigate into the case.

Earlier in the week, a video surfaced on social media showing Irshad lying on the road, a pool of blood around him. According to JST, Rahim Shah, the union council chairman of Bhains Colony, had shot their president and then left him to die on the street.

However, Rahim's account of the incident is different from the JST's. Rahim told the police that men were following him after he had withdrawn money from the bank. He said two men on a motorcycle stopped him and in defence he fired from the licensed gun he carries. Later, the thief was identified as Irshad.

The Sindh CM demanded answers as to why the JST president was not shifted to a hospital. He raised questions over the efficiency of the Sindh police. He also asked the number of arrests made after the incident, local media reported. He also inquired who had acted as complainant in the case.

The chief minister has ordered the IGP Sindh to look into the case from all angles.
