CJ takes notice of mishandling of journalists rally at D-Chowk

ISLAMABAD: Cheif Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Justice Saqib Nisar has taken a suo moto notice of the mishandling of journalists at World Press Freedom Day rally by Islamabad police and sought report from the administration.

The Chief Justice also issued notice to the Attorney General, Advocate General and fixed the matter for hearing on Friday (May 4).

According to reports, the participants of the rally were marching towards the Parliament. At D-Chowk, police barred them from moving any further.

Journalists from various news organisations and Pakistan Federal Union of Journalists were among the participants of the rally.
