McCullum optimistic that Lahore Qalandars will remain in PSL

Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars has become one of the most talked about side in the tournament, after its winless stint has turned the side into butt of jokes on social media.

Qalandars 10-wicket defeat to Peshawar Zalmi in their last match didn’t do much of a good for the side looking to revive their fortune, after Peshawar became the first team in PSL history to record a win without losing a wicket.

However, skipper Brendon McCullum remains optimistic and believes the ‘competition’ is still on, however, admitting that his side would need to make major changes.

“We have definitely taken a stride back. We have to eradicate our thought process of ‘there it goes again’. But we are still in this competition and are optimistic about our chances,” said McCullum, quoted Gulf News.

The Qalandars have so far remained unsuccessful to score a win in the tournament, losing all five of their matches and zero points in kitty, with only five matches to go before the playoffs, making into the eliminators would be a major task ahead.

Meanwhile, the Lahore Qalandars would be taking on Islamabad United in their next match, on Thursday, March 8.
